Packing. Here I go again. One of my favourite topics of conversation. A cohesive and thoughtfully packed bag of clothes essentially becomes a ‘Capsule Wardrobe’. Noticing if what’s left at home is part of the extension, pairing together, and creating comfort and ease.
What I packed for ~
1. Christmas, 3 days
I tried to go light, from Christmas lunch in town, then onto the train. Just a Market Bag. I often think of a text Zoe sent once and how she managed to fill her own Market with the contents of her carry on back pack (which is slightly smaller than my one, which I purposely got the next size up based on her recommendation.)
Wore to travel:
Navy jumper
Beige striped Daise Vest
Coloured bra
Denim CBS
Orange socks
Hiking sandals
Felo Bag (chucked on top of Market while in travel mode)
Packed:
For Day time ~
Navy striped Poet Shirt (swapped into on train)
Black jersey singlet dress
White one shoulder tank
Black rib tank
Undies
Pool socks
x2 pairs of bathers. One top was orange. The rest were black.
For PJS/ lounging ~
Old band t-shirt
Micro Check Para Short
Micro Check Jimmy Pant (to alternate between and use as regular clothes for lounging if needed)
Notes:
I knew I’d miss my black Para Shorts but also my micro check ones. So picking between was tricky. Thought I made the wrong choice when Sasha picked me up from the station wearing her black seersucker Paras with a bikini top.
The jersey singlet dress was a last minute throw in because of recently wearing at home more. A little regretful because of the lack of pockets. It was easy to throw on after swimming though, and versatile in shape / length by tucking into undies to create gathering. I also wore it with my shirt over, like a skirt pulled up over my hips.
Favourite go to outfit for swimming is still a Poet Shirt and a CBS.
My navy micro striped shirt has been the go-to so far this summer. I wore it to the river on my birthday too, it probably should have been washed in between wears but I didn’t want to not have it with me.

Back yesterday from the three days at the beach contents of bag emptied into the washing machine and managed to have dry and folded back into a different bag (backpack this time) ready for spending time by another beach and pool.
