Reasons to Make

10.15am, Monday 2nd of June

Sun on my face, higher in the sky to usual for this bench. I’m a bit late.

Monday coffee ritual, the new one. Missed last week, shared the week before.

Squiggly tree branch to my left, squiggly stitched coat on me.

There’s a runner cutting laps around the circumference of the oval. He’s passed three times now, no sign of slowing.

Looks like a good idea to go around the edge on the grass. Maybe I should try to get extra energy out over winter. Not today though, my calves are sore from (barn) dancing.

I brought a flask of coffee with me and my smaller special inside cup. Venturing outside with it makes me love using it even more.

The park - an extension of my home. Just have to cross two sets of lights and I’m on my second couch (bench).

The runner passes again. I gently brush a brave ant off my thumb.

Thinking of cycles and circles and continuing themes… Each article flowing into the next. A larger body of work. A snapshot of time and seasons and mindset.
